Within EHT, the R&DI – Research, Development & Innovation Business Unit serves as the project and technology engine for industrial research, experimental development, and applied innovation initiatives. The BU works on multidisciplinary projects that integrate digital, scientific, environmental, territorial, and technology transfer expertise, with the goal of transforming research into concrete, measurable, and high-impact solutions.

The selected candidates will be assigned to the PRUNE project, an initiative funded under the RETI – Puglia program, with EHT as the lead organization and the participation of public and private partners. The project aims to create an innovative digital platform for the sustainable management of marine-coastal environments, with a particular focus on the management of Posidonia oceanica residues, through data lakes, field observations, open data, marine weather forecasts, predictive models, and Artificial Intelligence components.

The team’s planned operational headquarters is in Lecce, in the heart of Salento, a strategic location for fostering connections between research, business, the environment, and innovation.

Role To strengthen its R&DI Business Unit, EHT S.C.p.A. is seeking a Software Architect & R&D System Integrator to join the team dedicated to the PRUNE project.
The candidate will play a central role in designing the technological architecture of the digital platform envisaged by the project, contributing to the definition of scalable, secure, and adaptive solutions capable of integrating data, software components, predictive models, and environmental monitoring tools.
The PRUNE project offers a particularly stimulating environment for those wishing to work on digital technologies applied to environmental sustainability, smart land management, and data valorization. The platform will in fact be fed by diverse sources, including observation campaigns, marine weather data, open data, and forecasting systems, with the aim of supporting more timely and well-planned decisions in the management of marine-coastal environments.
The selected candidate will work closely with researchers, data scientists, developers, project managers, and scientific partners, translating design and scientific requirements into robust, scalable technical architectures that align with research and development objectives.

Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and defining the platform’s software architecture, identifying the most appropriate technical standards, technology stacks, and integration patterns. They will be tasked with integrating heterogeneous components, experimental data flows, application services, and analysis models, ensuring the solution’s consistency, scalability, security, and maintainability.
They will also serve as a technical leader for the development team, supporting technology choices, organizing activities, and translating scientific requirements into operational technical specifications. Depending on the project’s evolution, they may also contribute to the preparation of technical documentation and assist in drafting new R&D project proposals.


Ideal Profile We are looking for someone with experience in designing complex software architectures, preferably in research, innovation, or experimental development contexts. Key skills include microservices architectures, containerization, cloud patterns, systems integration, software modeling, and communication protocols.
