What is proposed
The CiTrace project offers a new vision of traceability in the agrifood sector, viewing the product as a dynamic carrier of information that is enriched throughout the supply chain—from the field to the end consumer—thanks to the continuous integration of data from various sources. When applied to the citrus supply chain, CiTrace functions as a harmonized information hub upon which to build value-added tools and services for every stage of the production process, benefiting all stakeholders involved. The goal is to support agri-food companies in adopting advanced technologies for precision agriculture and traceability, promoting sustainable innovations in the long term. The proposed solutions are organized into three areas: tools (such as precision agriculture applications, IoT components, traceability systems, and innovative machines for harvesting and juice extraction), digital platforms for data management and processing, and integrated services that enhance agronomic and business knowledge throughout the supply chain, generating new B2B and B2C opportunities. EHT, the project leader, coordinates the partnership and actively contributes to the development of specialized tools for the citrus supply chain, such as the FMS for precision agriculture and IoT hardware components, as well as developing the middleware for the CiTrace platform, including the Transaction Management and Interaction Engine. Furthermore, EHT develops value-added services such as Data Visualization and Marketing, and experiments with innovative solutions for data communication and user interaction, including through blockchain technologies. Among the assets developed, tools for intelligent data management and applications for end consumers stand out, while the expertise acquired includes the design of advanced services for data utilization, AI-based data visualization systems, traceability solutions, data orchestration, and software/hardware tools for the Farm Management System.
