TESI

A collaborative digital platform to support the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders

What is TESI

The TESI (Technology Enabled Social Integration) project aims to develop, validate, and disseminate a collaborative digital platform that supports all stakeholders involved in the diagnosis and treatment of so-called “Autism Spectrum Disorders” (ASD) and assists individuals with this disorder in their daily activities (healthcare, home, school, work). The technology platform is cloud/web-based and includes a suite of applications consisting of apps and configurable software modules.

What is proposed

The TESI (Technology Enabled Social Integration) project aims to develop, validate, and disseminate a collaborative digital platform that supports all stakeholders involved in the diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and assists individuals with ASD in their daily activities (healthcare, home, school, and work). The technological platform is cloud/web-based and includes a suite of applications consisting of apps and configurable software modules. ASD is a rapidly growing and widespread condition, with an incidence of 1 in 30 children in the U.S. and 1 in 150 in Italy. Although its primary impact is on learning, communication, and social interaction, its manifestations are extremely diverse. It affects all areas of the lives of those affected, including the social, healthcare, family, educational, and workplace spheres. Technology has long offered support to the actors in this ecosystem. However, the current landscape is fragmented and potentially risky, characterized by numerous applications that are often single-purpose and lack valid scientific and experimental support. The TESI platform aims to innovate this landscape by: 1. facilitating data collection across all spheres surrounding individuals with SLDs; 2. fostering collaboration and communication among and with stakeholders; 3. enabling advanced analyses, including AI and ML solutions; 4. integrating all data into a single open interoperability standard (AIM), built as an extension of the HL7 FHIR standard.
