What is TICHE?
TICHE - Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage aims to develop a framework for promoting tourist itineraries through the creation of a platform (also accessible via a mobile app) for sharing documentation (such as text, images, metadata, etc.) and the ability to view interior spaces and itineraries in AR/VR/XR, including through their geolocation (to guide visitors/tourists along the route). The environmental ecosystem, stories, songs, and, in general, the intangible aspects of the heritage site in question will also be taken into consideration. Particular attention will be given to the musealization of the heritage site, in its socio-educational sense, and to the parallelization of immersive experiences. Furthermore, the plan is to use AI techniques to segment the wishes and needs of visitors/tourists, along with certain solutions (to be evaluated) for creating three-dimensional images and animations from flat figures. A pilot project is planned with the City of Catania and other municipalities along the “Vie del Zolfo” (Sulfur Routes).
